A great place to camp and fish.
This is the nicest most scenic gov run campground we have stayed at, great sites with lawns and trees. It has a very clean sandy swimming beach and the hosts have been extremely nice. In the evenings you get an up close visit from a deer herd. The fishing is good, so I have been told by the many fishermen at the campground. The road up to the campground was repaired this year and is much improved (2016).
Holter Lake is a scenic 25 mile long reservoir on the Missouri River. The Missouri River runs free for 90 miles between Holter Dam and the five dams at Great Falls, Montana. Holter Lake has a surface area of 4,800 acres. The lake has a mean depth of 50 feet and a max. depth of 121 feet. The distance between Hauser Dam and Holter Lake is 4.6 miles.
We had deer eating right next to our camper and the lake is beautiful.
Great place for fishing. Wish there were other place to stay rather than state campground.
